A record 1.2 million Americans ‘cut the cord’ last quarter


A record 1.2 million TV viewers in the United States cancelled their cable subscriptions last quarter, referred to as “cutting the cord,” bringing the total to 2.9 million this year.

It was the first quarter in which the number of cord-cutters exceeded one million. Data and analysis was compiled by Kagan, a group within S&P Global Market Intelligence.
